Wow!

So i forgot I had this! That is really stupid of me! I should be taking better care of this. It was a lot of fun. With school though things got kinda crazy. I am still sewing and crafting but have not had the ample time I used to have. I bet I can find some recent stuffs to show you guys.

This is a unicorn helm I made for my friend Colleen. It was a trial run but it came out pretty cool. The horn is a little to heavy so we have to work really hard to get it to stay on. We took a piece of chainmail looking material and tied it around the horn. From there it tied around her ponytail (lol irony) and hung down her back. I should get a pic of her wearing this.....

These were some prototype bone crowns I was working on. I used sculptey clay and baked it with wire in it. That is what I used to attach the bone to a headband. It was very frustrating because after a while gravity starts to pull the bones down towards your head.... making it look kinda stupid. Still I really want to come up with an awesome one of these. I just gotta keep the bones thin and not to long. I also have to do wiring both vertical in the bone and horiznotal through the base.

Cool makeup idea that Katrina and I were playing with one day. Using Fishnet and colored hairspray you can get some pretty nifty scales!

I have an awesome project planned for this technique. It is going to be super cool.

Life just got easier!

So I am a little behind on the times.... but I just got internet today at my house! With this I will soon be able to open an Etsy store or something. I wouldn't be able to make custom orders like Michelle.... she is just to awesome but I will be able to sell pieces that I don't use anymore or see how some of my creations sell! I did get a picture of a few of my costumes from last Avalon event. I'll find them later though.

Finished!?

So I finished Schroeder's coat last night which means.... Our costumes for next event are done? That's so weird because I am normally rushing to get finished at the last minute! I went out and bought a bag to keep my "arrows" in. All that's left to do is accessorize and pack!
I am currently putting off making that apron for my aunt's friend. Don't really know where to begin. Guess I should go work on it now....

Productive Night Last Night

Well, Last Night I really buckled down and got to work. I finished the Blouse and the skirt I needed for next weekend and am halfway done with the boyfriends jacket. Tonight I am going to finish it.
I also got a surprise project from my aunt. She wants me to make a round the waist apron for her friend. Nothing to fancy.... just something to make for some extra $$$.

Oh yeah! My bodice came yesterday! It is amazing! There really isn't anything that can make you feel sexier then being in an amazing corset/bodice! Last time I checked my headpiece was close by... It may be here today! Can't wait!

Update

It's been a few days since I have written. Sorry! Do to complications I didn't get to take pictures of the costumes I have been working on. I am trying to arrange a time where I can get these pictures taken.... grrrr. I have another event next weekend. I may have to wait til then.
But, for next event I am making more costumes! YAY! One for myself and one for my boyfriend. My friend approached me with the idea that he wanted me to play his INC (in character) sister. I gladly accepted! After browsing a few of my favorite online shops I found some piece I really loved.
I feel like I am personally supporting Damsel in this Dress. I have bought a bodice everyweek it seems! The chainmail headdress was only like $20. and I got black beads added to it. I have to made a blouse to go under the bodice and a skirt to go with it.
As for my boyfriend, I am making him a black pinstipe longcoat. Originally he had wanted a black and white alternating panelled long coat... but our Joann's didn't have the fabric. I can't blame them. They were having an amazing sell. He is very excited about it still and he volunteers to help me cut out the fabric!
I have tonight and tomorrow of work so I plan to get these done ASAP. I hope that my bodice comes today.... but knowing my luck I may have to wait til Monday cause Turkey Day interrupted the mail! The headdress should get here either Tuesday or Wednesday. I must learn patience it seems...

Last minute things before this weekend

Not much time left before the event this weekend. I finished putting the lining in the cloak. I wish I had had the money to make it a full length cloak.... oh well, I will have to be happy with my hobbit cloak! All I have left to do on it is edge it and sew on the clasps. YAY!

On a side note~ my boyfriend is a knight in shining armor. I was browsing online looking up one of my favorite seamstresses http://damseldress.com/. She is truly amazing! I was searching through her etsy shop and stumbled onto this wonderful piece:
Once again... I fell in love. The problem is I don't get paid til tomorrow! I tell my boyfriend how sad I am and how I am going to see if the seller will hold it for 24 hours. He calls back later and says that he will buy it for me! I hate when people buy me things.... but I'll forgive him this time! Now I get to design a new costume with this as the inspiration! Unfortunately, I will have to wait til next event. The yarn skirt I made yesterday will be perfect with this. The yarn I used has to much brown in it. It didn't really allow the gold to shine through liked I hoped it would. The sadness....

I cannot wait til I get my digital camera up and working so that I can post picture of the stuff I have made. It is nowhere near as amazing as this stuff but I like it! Before every event I try to make my character a new costume. It gets expensive but it has become like my new goal in life. She honestly may have more clothes than I have at this point. Grrr... I need to spend money on my out of character clothes more.

Stupid Work

So I am working a lot today so I don't know how much costuming I will get done today :( .... oh well. Last night I was bad and stayed up a little late. I really wanted to work on some stuff. I made a black panne velvet skirt. I am pretty happy with it. I still need to finish my cloak. All that really needs to be done is to attach the lining... but I really hate that part.
I also am adding another project before this weekend. A yarn skirt. I decided my costume needed a little bit more gold towards the bottom. Hopefully I will be able to do this. After this weekend I shall have pictures to post of these costumes!
